This research field´s aim is to consolidate components and information. This opens up enormous potentials for the improvement of processes for factory planning, production engineering and logistic purposes. The superior target of subproject K3 is a paradigm shift in regard to the logistic consideration of value-added processes by the use of genetelligent components.

Firstly the possible improvements of logistic process models by the use of genetelligent technologies should be identified. The hereon based redraft of logistic process models aspires to a process optimisation and a process simplification (WP 1). In WP 2 the component oriented information, which are created and handled in the process of manufacturing, will be identified and structured in a data concept of component manufacturing in a process oriented way. The next step aims at the interlocking of the possible uses of the genetelligent technology on the one hand and the data concept on the other hand to deduce technical requirements to the genetelligent technology. A for this purpose generated roadmap defines a plan of development for the complete runtime of the research field (WP 3).

Further research should lead to first improvements of the manufacturing process. These could be enlarged successively in the following periods. In a first step an exemplary control technique for the process of assembling should be generated, which is based on the self-contained communication of genetelligent components for the process of picking (WP 4). Beside the consideration of logistic processes the development of a factory planning concept (WP 5), which is matched to the genetelligent technology, should enable improvements in conjunction with organisation and layout of factories. The final validation and evaluation of the developed factory structure and the control technique of assembling via simulation in WP 6 should verify that the innovations indeed improve logistic capability.
