Working group Inheritance
Within the scope of the second phase of the Collaborative Research Centre 653 a definition of Technical Inheritance as a transfer of assembled and verified information from production and application to the next product generation has been composed.
According to the biological principles of transfer of the hereditary information and based on evolutionary mechanisms and variations of information transfer the Technical Inheritance process for Gentelligent Components can be described.
The biggest challenges are:
- definition of terms and interfaces between the CRC-subprojects in regard to genetic and intelligence
- description of information transfer processes
- construction of an evolutionary CRC-subprojects based development process
Currently, within the scope of research of inheritance principles in technical systems the terminology for description of different aspects of gentelligence will be elaborated.
Major focus of the working group in the third phase are the technical inheritance of information for future generations and machine learning during the life cycle of a product. These information are generated from the life cycle as well as the production process and are used to make both the product and the manufacturing appropriate and efficient. An adaptation process is realized by returning the verified accumulated life cycle information from new generations of components to design and manufacturing.
Based on the introduced terminology the working group analyses the processes of the transfer of information in view of the trends of the industry 4.0 and develops the theory of the Technical Inheritance.
